1963 Omega Seamaster Vintage Mens Automatic Cal. 552 Watch - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 7298

Today's offering showcases this classic and beautifully restored Seamaster from c. 1963. It has a desirable cross-hair dial with slightly unusual wider baton markers that give it a really great look. Our photos couldn't do the watch justice.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 552 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs, and the top tier offering of the 500 series.

It has 24 jewels, seven more than in most similar movements, and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

'60's and early 70's Seamasters are great long-term buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.

It measures 34mm in diameter without the crown, the size of a Rolex Date watch.

It is fully Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents as mint condition. The dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. And the movement is near pristine.

As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It winds very smoothly.

For the finishing touch a new leather strap with butterfly deployment buckle has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

The Seamaster:
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
