1966 Omega (Seamaster) Rare Cal. 560 Vintage Mens 10K Gold Filled & Stainless Steel Watch - Only Approx. 3000 Made

Omega

Item No. 10265

Today's offering showcases this rare, classic and pleasing automatic Omega. It features Omega's rare caliber 560 movement of which only 3,000 examples were made. These watches were made just for the U.S. market to avoid higher tariffs, and these 3,000 movements were split across 9 models, making each model in effect a very "limited edition."

While we have owned dozens of 560 Omegas, this is the first time we have ever seen the dial variation of this one. It is absolutely fantastic! While it's tough to pick up from our photos, Omega painted it with pinwheel brush stokes that catch the light at different angles and are subtly but clearly visible in person.

It's a really beautiful detail - the kind that rewards thoughtful scrutiny with enjoyment.

In construction it is a Seamaster, but this model was only very rarely branded so on the dial. Its gold-filled top "tropical" steel back case has the look of a solid gold Omega without the price tag.

It has fully Omega parts and presents beautifully on the wrist.

Its case is in excellent condition with fairly light wear - it doesn't have any of the gold wearthrough common on these. The back has a few opening marks as is common with these - it could be polished if desired. The case has never been previously heavily polished so it retains strong lines and presents nicely on the wrist.

Its untouched original dial has toned a tropical sepia tone, giving it a true vintage look.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling it down to the last screw, carefully inspecting each part, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).

It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Omega.

For the finishing touch, it comes equipped with a brand new dark gray leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment. We also stock lizard and a variety of others straps in various prints, skins, and colors.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
