The Seamaster DeVille, showcasing both refinement and high function, was the most important Omega line from a sales perspective from the latter part of the 1960's into the 1970's. It has a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.
Today's offering showcases this classic and beautifully restored Seamaster De Ville with quick-setting date caliber 565 movement.
'60's and early 70's Seamasters are great long-term buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.
It is fully Omega down to the dial, hands, original crown, Omega beads of rice bracelet and the crystal appears to be original. It presents as beautifully restored. The case shows signs of previous polishing.
The royal blue dial has been expertly refinished. The printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
The automatic movement has been fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker. It is quite pristine and keeping time like new.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
