1968 Omega Seamaster Geneve Mens Vintage Watch with 565 Movement, Automatic, Quick-Setting Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 6368

Today's offering showcases this very cool vintage Seamaster Geneve 166.002 mens watch. This reference is especially interesting because it was normally branded as a Seamaster 600, occasionally as a Geneve. However a few were double signed as a Seamaster Geneve. While Geneve signed examples are seen much less often than Seamaster signed examples, double signed versions like this one are seldom found.

It measures approximately 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown.

It has had a true expert restoration and presents in gorgeous condition. The case presents as just short of mint with light signs of polishing. The dial has been meticulously restored.

1950's and 60's Seamasters are great buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.

Its movement has just been disassembled down to the last screw and cleaned and oiled by our watchmaker. It winds very smoothly and is keeping very accurate time.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

For the finishing touch a new aftermarket leather strap has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment. We also have an original Omega beads of rice bracelet available for purchase that could be paired with it. Please inquire.
