Omega's flagship line for decades, the Constellation represents style, luxury, attention to detail, robust function, and most of all, superior precision. Elegant and distinctive, it is suitable for both casual and professional dress.
Today's offering showcases this prime example of "C" or third generation Constellation. The C Constellations are easily recognized because of their retro-styled tonneau cases and baton marker dials.
Its case measures 35mm in diameter, in between the sizes of the Rolex Date and Datejust models.
While the vast majority of C Constellations employed the later caliber 1011 movement, this much less common early example is powered by the Omega's top-tier caliber 564 movement, the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. With a chronometer certificate in addition to its 24 jewels and a quick-setting date, it was the very top-of-the-line offering of the famous 500 series and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era.
It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration - it presents as a 9.7 out of 10.
Its case presents as mint. The back shows light signs of previous polishing. The top has perfectly crisp facets and presents like new as gorgeous mint.
Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in Tiffany & Co. robin's egg blue - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration its chronometer movement has been serviced.
For the finishing touch we have installed a new calfskin leather band making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
