1972 Omega Dynamic Vintage Mens Watch with Quick-Setting Day & Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9842

Created in 1967 by Omega's sales director Robert Forster, the Dynamic is a wonderful example of a true retro style. The clean and functional watch, a considerable success for Omega, possessed a number of designed elements that made it stand out:

An ellipse shape with recessed crown determined to be the best geometric shape for the wrist, determined after extensive study

Easy to read dial with "time zone" sections.

Unicoc case with hermetically sealed crystal water-resistant to a depth of 30m.

Available with a stainless steel bracelet or easily interchangeable water-resistant Cor-fam straps

According to an Omega advertisement at the time, "The shape of the Omega Dynamic was determined by the anatomy of your wrist; its dial by the workings of your eyes; it strap by the physiology of your skin."

Powering the watch is Omega's 1022 movement with pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features.

Omega created the 1020 and 1022 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.

We are pleased to offer this striking c. 1972 Dynamic in gorgeous restored condition.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in beautiful condition - a 9 out of 10.

Its steel case has all of its original markings strongly intact. It has light hairlines and remnants of wear to the back. On the wrist, it presents as gorgeous mint.

Its Egyptian blue dial, which has wonderful tuxedo striped textured steel markers which give them a cool reflective quality, has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

And its fine, automatic Omega has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist - it is keeping time on par with a brand new Omegas in our testing recording position.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

For the finishing touch, it comes equipped with a new aftermarket leather strap designed to replicate the look of the original making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

A fifty year old Dynamic that presents like new on the wrist!

Please note: An example of this watch resides in the Omega museum, and a published example can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 483.
