1972 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Automatic Watch with Quick-Setting Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 8699

Today's offering showcases this superior restored example of one of Omega's vintage gent's classic Geneve watches. It has essentially the same case construction as a Seamaster but was sold under the Geneve model name.

It features a strong matte black dial, classic steel case and automatic caliber 1481 Omega movement with quick-setting date.

It is full size for the era measuring 35mm in diameter - one millimeter larger than a Rolex Date and one millimeter smaller than a Datejust.

It has fully Omega parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition.

The case presents as mint. On the wrist the case presents like new with crisp lines. The dial has been restored. With the exception of the Geneve script, which was done in an earlier period font, the rest of the dial presents perfectly and could pass as Omega factory done.

A Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Omega new-old-stock parts, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation in five chronometer positions (a $595 value).

We have also timed the watch on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist, and it continues to keep time virtually on par with a brand new Omega chronometer.

For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with a new Calfskin leather strap with aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

A half-century old Omega that presents like new on the wrist!

Omega Geneve:
Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.

Celebrating humanity's supreme achievements and performances, from man's landing on the moon to the Olympic competitions, Omega watches have been prized for generations by those seeking the most precise timepieces in the world. Since its creation in 1848 by Louis Brandt, Omega has relentlessly pursued watchmaking perfection, earning world-wide honors and fame.

Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els Omega timepieces rank with those from the world's fine Swiss firms.
