1973 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Automatic Watch with Caribbean Blue Dial - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9692

Today's offering showcases this gorgeously restored example of one of Omega's classic vintage gent's Geneve watches with Caribbean blue dial.

It has a water-resistant style case with screw back, distinctive dial, and fine Omega automatic movement with quick-setting date.

It is full size for a vintage watch, measuring 35mm in diameter, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records. They later expanded the use of the model name to other watches like this one.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition.

The case presents as mint with strong lines. Despite what the photos seem to suggest, the engraved logo on the back is still fully intact.

The original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in Caribbean blue - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).

It is running extremely strong and continues to keep very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have installed a new leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
