Today's offering showcases this striking example of a classic Omega vintage Geneve watch. It has a waterproof style case, beautiful red vignette dial that fades to black, and automatic caliber 1481 movement.
It is fully Omega down to the original hands and winding crown and presents in gorgeous true expertly restored cosmetic condition. The vignette dial with baguette markers and gilt printing has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
Note that the dial came out looking slightly brighter under the photography lights than it does in person.
The so-called tropical or hypo-allergenic case has the look of the wrist of a solid gold Omega for a fraction of the price.
The movement winds smoothly and is running very true. For the finishing touch we have installed a new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A four decade old Omega that presents like new on the wrist!
Omega Geneve line:
Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els Omega timepieces rank with those from the world's fine Swiss firms.
