1975 Omega Seamaster De Ville Mens Watch, Automatic, Quick-Set Day & Date - 14K Gold Filled

Omega

Item No. 8565

The Omega watch showcased in today's offering is a prime original example of one of the company's later vintage day date Seamaster watches. As a Seamaster DeVille, it's a watch with elegant sport capabilities.

Here are some of its features:

  • Pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features - This is an early double quick-setting day date Omega watch. Omega created the 1020 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.
  • 1020 series movement. The 1020 has a ast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy with ultra-thin design automatic winding system. Its thinner than normal rotor reduces stress on key winding parts and allows the entire movement to measure only 4.25mm thick! It also has a hacking system for precision time-setting.
  • Seamaster model for the U.S. market. Quite of few examples of this model, which was created by the Norman Morris Agency is New York, were branded and sold through Tiffany & Co.

We were pleased to offer it in superior condition. It has all its original parts including its long and adjustable original collectable Omega "beads of rice" bracelet. The watch itself is untouched except for the servicing of the movement and replacement of the crystal. The bracelet has been lightly polished.

Its 14K gold plated case has never been polished - it retains all of its original factory applied satin to the back and is in better than near mint condition. Its untouched original silver dial presents as mint with only very slight aging visible under magnification.

Our Master Watchmaker, our highest level watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with new Omega replacements, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value). Photos of the inside available upon request.

For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
