Today's offering showcases this uncommon and classically cool retro mens Omega Seamaster Calypso. Unless you're a true ardent fan of 80's quartz era Seamasters you probably haven't yet heard of the Calypso... few of them were made.
Its case is ultra thin with an elapsed time rotating bezel and screwed down crown. Its dial, which has a pleasing champagne divers style design, we usually associate with the gold and steel version of the Calypso and may have originated on one.
Powering it is its correct Omega caliber 1420 quartz mechanism with quick-setting date.
Its not a large watch, well-suited to a man who doesn't have a large wrist.
It presents in pleasing condition. The bezel insert shows only light honest wear and the inner bezel has light scratches...otherwise the case presents as close to mint.
Its dial which maintains its original finish presents beautifully. Its original bracelet shows fairly mild to moderate stretch - its finish presents as just short of mint to the naked eye.
One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing a number of overly worn components with genuine correct Omega replacements, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
A very cool and seldom seen retro Omega!
