The beautiful and very fine pocket watch showcased in today's offering is an original example of one of Patek's very early stem wound and stem set watches. It is a bespoke piece exclusively "Made for Mrs. Jimmie Pindell, May 12th, 1869 by Patek Philippe & Co."
Owning any Patek is a true distinction..imagine owning a custom made one?!
Patek Philippe hand-engraved the case in stunning vermicelli detail accented by geometrical designs on the bands, so the watch doesn't have a single large non-decorated exterior surface.
The dial is a stunning two-tone fancy dial with cream center and intricate light blue gray decoration somewhat suggestive of a Fleur de Lis pattern. It is feminine and sophisticated.
Powering it is a Patek caliber with distinctive moustache counterpoise on the lever, wolf's tooth gearing, capped escape wheel and frosted gilt finishing.
It is all original with a numbers matching case and is in very pleasing original condition appearing to have been worn seldom and carefully in appreciation of its quality and value and then safely stored away. It has not recently been polished if ever.
Its untouched original porcelain dial is in just short perfect mint condition. Its case presents as close to mint.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Patek Philippe:
Patek Philippe bears the standard of the finest watch manufacturer in the world and holds world records for the most expensive watches in the world.
During the 1860's and '70's, Patek Philippe produced only fewer than approximately twenty watches per day (contrast this with Omega and other fine watch manufacturers that produced 500 - 1,200 pieces per day) making original examples very rare and collectable.
