1940's Patek Philippe Vintage Mens Late Art Deco Handwound Watch with Stepped Lugs - 18K Gold

Patek Philippe

Item No. 8951SH

We are proud to offer the very elegant Patek Philippe mens watch with distinctive stepped lug case showcased in today's offering.

With its classic silver face with prominent outer track and gorgeous square case, it showcases very fine late Art Deco mid-century Patek style.

Its descending lugs give it an interesting profile from the side. Its large dial and case and lug design make it wear a bit larger than its dimensions.

As fine on the inside as the outside, it is powered by one of Patek Philippe's illustrious 9'90 movements, unquestionably among the finest hand-winding movements ever built. It was so well designed that Patek used it for more than 40 years!

The 9'90 is a tonneau shaped movement introduced in 1934 and was fitted into many famous Patek Philippe watches such as the "Banana" (ref. 2442), the "Eiffel Tower " (ref. 2441), the "Top Hat" (ref. 1450), and the "Pagoda" (ref. 1588), which we happen to have in stock right now as of this writing.

It has all of its original Patek parts.

Its distinctive case presents in beautiful, better than near mint, condition. Its silver dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America, and it still retains its original raised Patek Philippe enamel lettering.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center and also has done authorized work for the Richemont brands including Cartier, Vacheron & Constantin, IWC, JLC and others, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, polishing the pivots, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new Java lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Please inquire if you would like us to obtain an Extract from the Patek Philippe archives for you. Patek now charges 500CHF (approx. $550 USD) to provide one.
