Item No. 10347

We are pleased to offer this very fine and rare Patek Philippe mens ref. 2488 watch.
With its understated silver face and timeless yet gorgeous square case, it showcases a classic and elegant vintage Patek style.
The photos don't quite pick-up the way the sides of the case curve to form into the lugs. I've owned countless Pateks, and I really love the beauty of this case. Our photos just couldn't quite capture it.
Powering it is its original illustrious Patek Philippe 10 ligne movement, unquestionably among the finest hand-winding movements ever built.
We believe this is a one-owner watch. The owner received it in 1952 for loyal service. With the watch we received an envelope with a handwritten note from the owner detailing its history and his 25 years of ownership to that point.
It presents in beautiful condition. Its case is near mint with fairly mild wear. It does not appear to have been polished and retains a crisp hallmark. Please inquire if you would like us to polish it.
Its silver dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America - its original raised enamel lettering is still intact. And its movement is clean.
One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components including the detent and fourth wheel pivot with genuine Patek parts, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $1495 value).
We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Please inquire if you would like us to obtain an Extract for you - Patek charges 500CHF.
