Today's offering showcases this classic and uncommon ref. 2484 Patek Philippe mens dress watch with fabulous faceted lugs. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.
Featuring a timeless silver face and pleasing 18K gold case with wonderful lugs, it showcases a sophisticated and elegant vintage style. While we'd be hard pressed to name a Patek design that we don't like, this one in particular really stands out to us. We absolutely adore it.
Pateks with long curved faceted lugs are some of the most elegant to us, and this one is particularly well done in our opinion. It also has one of our favorite timeless Patek dial designs with silvered finish, baton markers, small seconds, and indented gold dot outer track.
Equipped with an illustrious Patek Philippe 10 ligne movement, unquestionably among the finest hand-winding movements ever built, it possesses all the necessary capabilities to earn it its place as one the finest timepieces in the world.
Extremely high grade, it has eight adjustments - five for chronometer positions and three for heat, cold, and even isochronism. Isochronism is the amount of wind left in the movement. Most watches slow down slightly as their power reserve moves toward empty. That is not the case with this watch - it is very high-grade.
We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts down to the hands and winding crown. It is in beautiful condition, appearing to have been worn carefully only occasionally with an appreciation for its quality and value.
Its elegant Patek Philippe case retains a two very crisp hallmarks under the lugs. It presents as just short of mint with only light signs of previous polishing. Its dial, which had been refinished before we purchased, has now had a fresh restoration by one of the leading dial experts in North America. Its original raised enamel Patek Philippe Geneve wording is still strongly intact.
One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $895 value).
It is running very strongly and keeping very accurate time in our testing position, nearly on par with a new watch. For the finishing touch , we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
Please inquire if you would like us to obtain an Extract from the Patek Philippe archives for you. Patek charges 500CHF to provide one.
