It is an unusual creation, perhaps made for the U.S. market, and we don't recall ever having seen another similar.

Embodying fine Art Deco design, its stunning platinum and diamond case is suggestive of iconic Deco landmarks like the Empire State Building and Los Angeles City Hall.

Bejeweled with fifty-four original Rolex diamonds on the case and another six on the band, its original platinum Rolex case is showstopping! Complementing the case is its two-tone dial with metallic silver sections complete with Art Deco geometry.

This cocktail watch added the perfect finishing touch to outfits worn to galas, award ceremonies, or other special gatherings.

The brilliant diamonds are white, near flawless, and full of fire as one would expect from original Rolex factory set diamonds. Our photos couldn't do it justice. Each diamond section is fully beaded around the edge and the decoration continues around the brushed edge of the main case body. It is truly exquisite.

For the movement, Rolex used an unusually high quality engine. It is in principle a ladies version of Rolex's celebrated movement for the famed Prince. It is baguette and features an oversized winding barrel and balance wheel. By placing this two mechanisms at opposite ends of the movement the watch achieves incredible levels of accuracy and carries a longer power reserve, enabling it to run longer and more accurately on a single wind

While Rolex during the period at times put designations, like "Prima Quality", on high-performing mens watches, their ladies movement usually did not carry a designation, although this one does.

We were fortunate to acquire it. It is fully Rolex down to the diamonds, dial, and hands.

Its platinum case is in excellent condition with only light wear. The Rolex factory stamping on the outside is still strong. Its silver dial is bright and clean.

It comes equipped with its original and vintage black cord band equipped with original diamond findings and clasp.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled its original, high-grade Rolex movement, which is clean and keeping time, making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
