1920's Rolex Ladies Vintage Art Deco Watch - 9K Rose Gold

Rolex

Item No. 9318

While busy developing their Oyster case, Rolex also crafted lady's pieces to meet the needs of their wealthy female clients. The fine wristwatch featured in this offering is an example of one of these very early Lady Rolex timepieces. Rolex was one of the pioneers of the wrist-worn watch.

The centerpiece of the watch is its stunning silver face with sunburst guilloche Roman numerals which is original and untouched. Born before the days of constant brand focused marketing, these very early pieces are often not outwardly signed Rolex - they are only signed on the case and movement.

Its original "cathedral" style blued steel hands have toned to a deep purple and bronze tone.

As one of the world's first wristwatches, this wonderful transitional watch showcases pocket watch heritage with its hinged case with thin bezel and "onion" style crown.

Powering this gem is a fine, early Rolex "Rebberg" timekeeping mechanism housed in its original 9K gold Rolex case.

Its case, lightly tinted rose in color and just a bit larger than the cases of most similar ladies Rolex watches from the era, is in better than near mint condition, in far nicer condition than most examples of this watch.

Its original dial is in pleasing condition. And its Rolex movement is very clean. It comes equipped with the gold filled vintage or original bracelet that was on the watch when we acquired it.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, fabricating a new tooth for the minute wheel gear, installing a new mainspring and new-old-stock crystal, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $995 value).

These watches are known for not operating well because of their age, but this one is now an exception to that. We have timed it on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
