Today's offering showcases this gorgeous original example of one of the company's distinctive and fine 1940's ladies dress watches.
Complete with its steel and rose gold case that features elegant dropping lugs and a light silver dial (face), it has a timeless elegance and class.
Powering this gem is a fine, early Rolex timekeeping mechanism. Featuring Rolex's patented Super Balance system as well as possessing a tonneau shape for longer running reserve and more accurate timekeeping, it employed Rolex's premier movement technology for the era.
While most ref. 4211 were made in one of the varieties of solid gold, this uncommon example fully built at the Rolex factory in Switzerland was made in mixed metal, something common today but much less common in vintage times. In fact, a quick web image search for this reference turned up only a couple of other bi-metal examples - both sold by our company.
Its case is in wonderful condition - better than near mint with strong lines and the light original stamping on the back intact. Its classic dial was refinished in vintage times. Please inquire if you would like it freshly, expertly restored.
One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
We have timed it on a machine that spins the watch in all directions simulating it being wound. It continues to keep very accurate time.
For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
