Today's offering showcases this rare and exquisite Rolex creation. It is original and fully Rolex.
It is a special creation and given its style it likely was made for Bucherer - according to Bucherer advertisement from the period, watches similar to this were made exclusively for the Swiss retailer. As Hess and Dowling state in their authoritative work on Rolex, watches like this are, "in fact, the last hand made Rolex watches."
Bejeweled with sixty (60) diamonds totaling a full approx. 2.5 carats, the 18K white Rolex gold case is absolutely stunning!
Showcasing a beautiful open geometric stirrup motif with full brilliant diamond bezel and two large brilliants at the centers, this cocktail watch as it is called, added the perfect finishing touch to outfits worn to galas, award ceremonies, or other special gatherings. It is hinged to better fit the contour of the wrist.
The brilliant diamonds are white, near flawless, and full of fire as one would expect from original Rolex factory set diamonds.
We were fortunate to acquire this important Rolex in pleasing original condition, down to the untouched dial and hands. It has a sleek original correctly stamped snake mesh bracelet.
Its case is in excellent condition. As is its untouched original silver dial.
One of our Master Watchmakers who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker (for many years now Rolex does not "certify" they only "train"), has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive poising, timing, testing and regulation (a $795 value).
Its original handwound Rolex movement is very clean. Photos of the inside available upon request.
For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
If you are looking for a true treasure for that special someone in your life, this is it. Modern Rolex's don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
