1954 Rolex Oyster Shock-Resisting Classic Vintage Mens Handwound Watch - Stainless Steel & 18K Gold

Rolex

Item No. 8885R

One of the more seldom seen classic vintage Rolex watches is the Oyster Shock-Resisting as Rolex made most watches of this style with a date.

It features a much thinner profile than the Perpetual models - its understated, elegant and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches.

Most similar Oyster Precisions are ref. 6426 which has a smooth bezel. This uncommon reference, ref. 6480, made only for a limited amount of time in the '50's, served as the precessor to the long running 6426 and 6427 models. It features an engine turned indexed bezel which adds a touch of class to its mid-century Oyster case.

Rolex was a fairly early adopter of using shock protection in their movements, and the 6480 was one of the early models to offer it, as the dial proudly proclaims.

Today's offering showcases this impressive Certified Pre-Owned mens Rolex Oyster watch in gorgeous restored condition. It measures 34mm in diameter - the same size as a Rolex Date watch.

Powering the watch is its Rolex early Caliber 1210 handwound movement with early shock resistance.

It is fully Rolex down to the hands and winding crown. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

Its case presents as just short of perfect mint. Its indexed engine-turned bezel has crisp facets. Its dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Rolex factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration it has just been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker (a $495 value). Its engine is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch it comes equipped with a brand new calfskin strap and aftermarket gold tone Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
