1969 Rolex Oysterdate Mens Vintage Ref. 6694 Date Watch - 18K Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. 9898

Today's offering proudly showcases this impressive Connoisseur of Time Certified Pre-Owned mens Rolex Oysterdate with its dial refinished distinctively in a mixed Arabic and Roman numeral so-called "California" configuration.

It measures approximately 35mm in diameter - in between the size of a Rolex Date and a Datejust.

The Oysterdate Precision have become desirable non-sport vintage Rolex watches because their understated and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions. Produced from the early 1950's into the 1980's, it was a strong commercial success for Rolex, winning a large following.

Our uncommon Oysterdate has a so-called "tropical" 18K gold plated case with stainless steel back, a metal combination seen much less often than the ubiquitous steel version.

Powering the watch is its original Rolex Caliber 1225 handwound movement with date.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration - it presents as a 9.7 out of 10. On the wrist, it presents like a new Rolex.

Its case presents as mint. Its silver dial has been meticulously refinished - its printing could pass as Rolex factory done to the naked eye

As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value). After more than six decades it continues running strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Rolex in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap and aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center.
