Today's offering showcases this superior Certified Pre-Owned Rolex Oysterdate Precision in gorgeous original condition with very classic silver dial. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.
The Oysterdate Precision have become desirable non-sport vintage Rolex watches because their understated and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions. Produced from the early 1950's into the 1980's, it was a strong commercial success for Rolex, winning a large following.
Its gold accents give the watch a dressier look than an all-steel Rolex. The elegant and sophisticated markers on this watch are our very favorite design from all of the Oysterdate watch dial variations from the era. The markers on the primary hours have a very subtle tuxedo guilloche texturing which changes their appearance just a bit from the rest of the high polished markers when the light hits them.
Powering the watch is its original Rolex Caliber 1225RB handwound movement with date and shock resistance.
It has all of its original parts with the exception of the crown. We just replaced the crown with a lightly used correct identical one that has much stronger inside threads so that it now has many more years of use in it.
If you're a discerning collector or looking for a vintage Rolex that presents as superior original condition, unlike most examples, you've found it. Its case presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing. And its untouched dial is original and gorgeous mint. It is 99% pristine, even under magnification.
Its original movement, which is also nearly perfectly pristine, is running extremely strong and true, keeping time on par with a brand new Rolex chronometer in all five chronometer testing positions.
One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has performed any needed servicing.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap with aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Note: Published examples of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Vol. 2, p. 378-381.
