Possessing understated elegance and clean lines this vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual showcases a truly classic style.
As precise as it is classic, this watch is powered by a well-regarded movement, one of the mechanisms that powered early Submariner, Explorer, and GMT models.
Featuring a classic dial and case and equipped with a crocodile strap it has an elegant and understated vintage look.
We were fortunate to acquire it in very rare untouched original near new-old-stock condition. Our photos couldn't do it justice.
It is absolutely gorgeous, nearly as good as they come, and will satisfy even the most selective collector. It has never been polished and the brushing on the lugs is mint and the bezel facets are perfectly sharp. The sides show only light wear and the back, where the original factory brushing has lightened, has fine hairlines.
The dial is 99% like new-old-stock.
What makes this one even more special is that it still has its original papers from 1974 and both its original inner and outer boxes in very good condition, a true complete papers set!
This time capsule Rolex continues to keep very accurate time.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
A published example of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Guido Mondani editor, Vol. 1, pg. 262.
