Today's offering showcases this interesting Rolex made especially for the U.S. market. Our photos couldn't do it justice.
In the 1960's and 70's, in the midst of their high output of utilitarian sport watches, Rolex also made this slightly unusual model exclusively for the U.S. market. It featured one of their perpetual movements in a case that has a classic dress style to it.
As precise as it is classic, the watch is powered by the same well-respected automatic Rolex cal. 1520 mechanism that drove early Submariner models. A superior mechanism, it offers a level of engineering and craftsmanship that is exceptional.
Rolex period advertising showed that the company made this model specifically for the corporate market so most of the examples of these watches you find are engraved on the back, as this one is.
Our C.O.T. Certified Pre-Owned Rolex presents in pleasing original condition. Its case presents beautifully with only fairly light year and no significant gold wear through. Its untouched original dial has one mark above Rolex - otherwise it presents as just short of mint.
Its automatic "Perpetual" engine is very clean.
One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).
It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a brand new Rolex in our testing position.
For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new Teju lizard strap and the watch's original Rolex buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Don't miss the opportunity to own the perfect complement to your sporty Datejust, Sub, GMT, or Daytona!
