In the Roaring '20's, like today, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial.
Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.
Today's offering showcases this stunning platinum diamond Tiffany & Co. watch made by Longines for the prestigious retailer.
When it comes to ladies watches, the focus was and still is normally much more directed to the what's on the outside of the watch than what's on the inside. That is not the case with this watch whose high-quality engine could make some mens movements jealous.
It is very finely crafted and was adjusted to three positions.
We were fortunate to obtain it in original condition down with even the original platinum clasp. The only replaced part is one of the hands.
Bejewelled with radiant original factory set diamonds, the Art Deco styled Tiffany & Co. platinum and 18K gold case with original hand-decorated sides and back is beautiful! Even the crown shows incredible artistry and craftsmanship.
It is in very pleasing condition, appearing to have been worn carefully in appreciation of its quality and value.
Its silver Tiffany & Co. dial is presents in excellent condition with only light aging. Its unpolished platinum and diamond case is in excellent condition with mild wear and crisp details. As mentioned it will be accompanied by its original platinum clasp.
One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer, was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, and has done authorized work for Cartier's Service Center has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a correct new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
It is running very strongly for a watch of any age, must less a century old one. Photos of the inside available upon request.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Hirsch strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
