In the 1930's like today, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial. Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.
Today's offering showcases this stunning platinum, 18K gold, and diamond Tiffany & Co. watch made by the fine Swiss firm E. Huguenin for the prestigious retailer.
While not a household name in this era, Huguenin was a very fine manufacturer at the time this watch was built. The movement, which is adjusted to three positions, is on par with the quality of IWC and other high-grade manufacturers from the era.
We were fortunate to obtain it with original parts down to the dial, hands, and even ornate winding crown.
Note that the case wasn't fully closed when it was photographed. It closes tightly.
Bejewelled with radiant original factory set diamonds over the top and bottom bezel and tops of the lugs, the finely decorated platinum and 18K yellow gold case is stunning!
It is in very pleasing condition, appearing to have been worn carefully in appreciation of its quality and value.
Its silver Tiffany & Co. dial shows only fairly mild aging, and it is well-complemented by the wonderful original "Breguet" moon hands. Its platinum, 18K gold, and diamond case is near mint.
It has recently been cleaned and oiled, and is keeping very accurate time. It comes fitted with a vintage black cord strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
