In 1950, like today, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial. Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.
Today's offering showcases this charming 14K gold Tiffany & Co. watch made by Hamilton for the prestigious retailer.
The Hamilton Watch Co., America's most iconic vintage watch firm and one of its finest wristwatch makers, built treasured timepieces that are still cherished by many today. During their peak years, which lasted from the 30's into the 60's, the Pennsylvania establishment developed a reputation for innovation and quality.
We were fortunate to obtain it in original condition down to the hands and even winding crown.
With its distinctive faceted lugs and classic vintage styled dial, it has a charming and sophisticated presence. It was named the "Judith A" model.
It is in very pleasing condition, appearing to have been worn carefully in appreciation of its quality and value.
Its silver Tiffany & Co. dial, perhaps with its original finish or perhaps refinished in vintage times, is very clean. Its solid 14K gold case has strong lines and is just short of mint.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. Its movement is near pristine.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new gold-tone strap that replicates the style of the original making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Note that the band has findings that make a smaller loop of the band material than what is shown in most of the photos.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
