In the 1950's like today, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial.
Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.
Today's offering showcases this stunning platinum diamond Tiffany & Co. watch made by Hamilton for the prestigious retailer.
The Hamilton Watch Co., America's most iconic vintage watch firm and one of its finest wristwatch makers, built treasured timepieces that are still cherished by many today. During their peak years, which lasted from the 30's into the 60's, the Pennsylvania establishment developed a reputation for innovation and quality.
We were fortunate to obtain it with original parts down to the dial, hands, and even winding crown.
Bejewelled with radiant original factory set diamonds over all the bezel and tops of the lugs in a symmetrical geometrical design, the finely decorated platinum case is stunning! The 46 diamonds are high quality and full of fire for the period as one would expect from original factory set diamonds.
The dealer we acquired it from stated the total weight was 2 carats. We think it might be less than that and are comfortable saying it looks to be somewhere greater than a carat.
It is in very pleasing condition. Its platinum and diamond case shows fairly light wear and very light indentions to the back - otherwise it presents as near mint. On the wrist, it presents as near mint.
Its silver dial signed Tiffany & Co. has been previously restored in vintage times.
A watchmaker has freshly serviced the movement and fitted it with a brand new black cord strap made to replicate the original making it ready for immediate enjoyment. We have tested it on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist - it is keeping very accurate time.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center and also has done authorized work for the Richemont brands including Cartier, Vacheron & Constantin and others.
If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
