1971 Rolex Vintage Mens Oysterdate Date Watch, Silver Dial - Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. 9199

Today's offering showcases this superior C.O.T. Certified Pre-Owned Rolex Oysterdate Precision in gorgeous original condition with very classic silver dial and original bracelet. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

The Oysterdate Precision have become desirable non-sport vintage Rolex watches because their understated and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions. Produced from the early 1950's into the 1980's, it was a strong commercial success for Rolex, winning a large following.

Powering the watch is its original Rolex Caliber 1225RB handwound movement with date and shock resistance.

It has all of its original parts down to its original Rolex "crimped link" Oyster bracelet dated stamped 2-'72.. If you're a discerning collector or looking for a vintage Rolex that presents as superior original condition, unlike most examples, you've found it.

Its case presents as mint with only fairly light signs of previous polishing. And its untouched dial is original and gorgeous mint, even under magnification. The luminous has nicely toned to sepia.

Its original movement, which is also quite pristine, is running very strongly.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, installing a new mainspring and gaskets, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).

For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Note: Published examples of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Vol. 2, p. 378-381.
