1972 Rolex Date (Datejust) Mens Watch with Monochrome Design - Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. 5443SH

Today's offering showcases this classic Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model encased in stainless steel. Essentially a Datejust with a slightly smaller diameter (34mm instead of the Datejust's 36mm) it features clean lines and a sharp look and embodies Rolex's timeless class. With its silver dial it has a cool original monochromatic style.

As precise as it is classic, the watch is powered by a mechanism that powered many early models of the Submariner, Explorer, and GMT models. A superior mechanism, it offers a level of engineering and craftsmanship that is exceptional.

Here is a little more about it:

  • Stainless steel Oyster case crafted from a single block of stainless steel. This process originally insured that watch was impervious to water to a depth of 100m.
  • Cool silver monochrome dial
  • Officially certified chronometer movement
  • Rolex Twinlock screw down crown
  • Precision advancing "snap" date mechanism
  • Acrylic crystal with 'cyclops' lens for easy reading of the date
  • Later period Rolex Oyster bracelet

It has been professionally serviced and the dial has been professionally re-restored. The caliber 1570 movement looks near pristine. Overall it presents in gorgeous condition, freshly expertly polished. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Note: A published example of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Guido Mondani editor, Vol. 2, pg. 30.
