1920's Rolex Princess Exquisite Ladies Vintage Art Deco Watch - 18K White Gold & Diamonds

Rolex

Item No. 8524SH

Today's offering showcases this rare and exquisite Rolex creation from their Princess line.

It is a wonderful creation, and we don't recall ever having seen another example exactly like it. Our web search didn't turn up another example.

Embodying fine Art Deco design, its stunning 18K white gold and diamond case is suggestive of iconic Deco shapes, geometry, and Egyptian revival decoration.

Bejeweled with eight large, original Rolex diamonds, its 18K white gold Rolex case is showstopping! The case is larger and more substantial than most ladies Rolexes from the era...while not large compared to today's watches, it's surprisingly heavy for a vintage with large scrolled hoods.

This cocktail watch added the perfect finishing touch to outfits worn to galas, award ceremonies, or other special gatherings.

The brilliant diamonds are white, near flawless, and full of fire as one would expect from original Rolex factory set diamonds. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

For the movement, Rolex used an unusually high quality engine. It is the ladies version of Rolex's celebrated movement for the famed Prince. Without question the Prince is the most iconic Art Deco Rolex, widely celebrated for its quality, innovative design and luxuriously elegant style, and this Princess model showcases the same qualities in a smaller footprint. It is baguette and features an oversized winding barrel and balance wheel. By placing these two mechanisms at opposite ends of the movement the watch achieves incredible levels of accuracy and carries a longer power reserve, enabling it to run longer and more accurately on a single wind.

Its 18K white gold case is in excellent condition with only light wear. The Rolex factory stamping on the outside is still strong. Its silver dial, which may have been restored in vintage times, is clean.

It comes equipped with an original or period 18K white gold mesh bracelet.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker (for many years now Rolex does not "certify" they only "train"), has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).

If you are looking for a true treasure for that special someone in your life, this is it. Once this one sells you won't find another like it.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
