1940's Universal Geneve Vintage Mens Uni-Compax Chronograph Watch - Solid 18K Gold with Steel Back

Universal Geneve

Item No. 7894

Since 1894, the fine Swiss firm Universal Geneve has produced very fine and collectible timekeeping instruments and is the company that popularized the idea of the modern chronograph wristwatch. Universal Geneve has produced a number of exceptional timers, including the very well-regarded Compax series.

Today's offering showcases one of these watches. Powered by it complicated, original "in-house"Universal Geneve caliber 285 movement, it is a display of precision that can be worn everyday.

Its average sized, attractive case presents beautifully on the wrist. The case back has been previously replaced with a perfectly fitting replacement period steel Buame & Mercier back.

Its silver dial with outer speed tracking tachometer scale, used in racing, sporting, and aviation fields was restored in vintage times. Please inquire if you would like it freshly restored.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a brand new mineral glass crystal to give a clear view to the very edge of the dial. All chronograph functions work correctly - the chronograph resets to 12 very well - and it is keeping accurate time. Photos of the inside available upon request.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Teju lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a full one-year international warranty, a Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
