1960's Omega Seamaster Mens Vintage Watch with 565 Movement - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 4427

Today's offering showcases this pleasing 1960's Omega Seamaster with original "beads of rice" bracelet.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

It has a monocoque - or one-piece - Omega case, which when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.

It measures 34mm in diameter without the crown, the size of a mens Rolex Date watch.

It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. Its very honest case appears to have never been polished and is in excellent condition. Its classic silver dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America. And its desirable original Omega "beads of rice" bracelet presents beautifully and is scratch-free.

1950's and 60's Seamasters are great buys as parts are available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.

Our Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Omega replacements - we replaced several parts on it, reassembling and lubricating the movement, replacing all of the waterproofing seals if needed, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

The Seamaster:
Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, Prince William, and one graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA.

Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
