1970 Omega Seamaster Memomatic Vintage Massive Mens Retro Alarm Watch, Stainless Steel - Near New-Old-Stock

Omega

Item No. 5515

Today's offering showcases this Seamaster Memomatic in spectacular near NOS condition.

Unlike all other alarm wristwatches at the time which required the alarm to be re-wound by hand after every use, Omega's Memomatic possessed a self-winding alarm. A significant step forward, it made it easier to go through a series of appointments.

Not only was the watch the first of its time to feature a self-winding alarm, it also was the world's first watch the allowed the alarm to be set to the exact minute. If you've ever had a vintage alarm you know what a much needed advancement it was as setting previous alarms was an approximation at best.

The watch is just as it left the factory and on the wrist the it presents as NOS. The only wear to the watch are a few wrench marks on the back from when a previous seller opened it.

Our watchmaker has just performed the watch's first servicing since leaving the factory.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a copy of the model's instruction booklet and service manual.

Please note: A published example of the watch can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 293.

A very rare true time capsule Memomatic.
