1971 IWC Vintage Mens Full Size Watch, Cal. 8541B Pellaton Automatic - Stainless Steel

IWC

Item No. 8089

The superior automatic IWC featured in today's offering is powered by the Albert Pellaton designed Caliber 854B movement. This mechanism's automatic winding system is a technical masterpiece, earning it high praise - Gisbert Brunner and Christian Pfeiffer-Belli in their work, Wristwatches Armbanduhren Montres-bracelets, proclaimed the 85x series "one of the best automatic movements ever built in Switzerland."

And the famous watchmaker Donald de Carle, in his book Complicated Watches and their Repair, stated that IWC's special automatic winding mechanism was "a simple and ingenious system, well constructed and beautifully finished."

IWC built the movement of this watch in 1971 at the same time they were building their famous Ingenieur line.

Its cool retro case is full size. It measures 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the size of Rolex Date and Datejust models.

Its parts are original down to its dial, hands, and its original signed winding crown. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents as gorgeous mint.

Its case presents as gorgeous mint with crisp facets on the bezel. On the wrist it presents as perfect mint.

Its royal blue dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as IWC factory done to the naked eye. It came out looking brighter under the photography lights than it does in person - in person it is a rich true royal blue.

As part of the restoration, the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker.

For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

You won't be disappointed - a half-century old IWC that looks like new on the wrist!
