In the 1920's and 1930's, like today, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial.

Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

Today's offering showcases this beautiful original 18K gold Tiffany & Co. watch made by Longines for the prestigious retailer. Made for Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue salon at the height of the Art Deco era, it unites Longines’ Swiss horological precision with Tiffany’s New York sense of luxury and proportion.

The round case radiates warmth in gold and measures approximately 24 mm across, a balanced and graceful size for the era. Its champagne-toned dial has a lovely Art Deco design, and the Tiffany & Co. signature affirms its exclusive provenance.

When it comes to ladies watches, the focus was and still is normally much more directed to the what's on the outside of the watch than what's on the inside. That is not the case with this watch whose high-quality engine could make some mens movements jealous.

It is very finely crafted and was adjusted to three positions. It is all-original down to the hands and crown.

Its Tiffany & Co. dial is original and untouched, retaining its period charm with fairly faint patina under magnification. Its unpolished case is in excellent condition with only light wear.

One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled it down to the last screw and fully serviced it. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have installed a new black cord strap designed to replicate a vintage style that adjusts to fit virtually any size wrist on the existing band holders that were on the watch when we aquired it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
