1937 Cresarrow Vintage Art Deco Ladies Watch - Platinum

cartier

Item No. 5134

Today's offering showcases this beautiful original Art Deco ladies vintage platinum Cresarrow watch. It has an ornately engraved Art Deco case.

Cresarrow of New York was one of the premier American luxury watchmakers/jewelers in the first several decades of the twentieth century. Founded by Henry Blank in the late nineteenth century, Cresarrow contracted with the esteemed likes of Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, IWC and others to build superior quality wristwatch cases for their U.S. market watches.

Cresarrow also supplied complete watches to Tiffany & Co. and Cartier and evidence suggests the company contracted C.H. Meylan, a high grade Swiss niche manufacturer, and IWC Schaffhausen to produce some of these movements because the American firm had no manufacturing capacity of its own.

While Cresarrow's main watch business was as a contractor, they also branded and sold a fairly small number of watches under their own name, like this watch. It has a platinum Cresarrow made case and a very high-grade 18 jewel movement adjusted to three positions.

It is all original down to the dial, hands, and beautiful ornate winding crown. It was given as a gift on Christmas Day, 1937. Our watchmaker has just serviced the movement, and it is keeping remarkable time for its age.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
