Item No. 9941

Today we are proud to offer this very uncommon "jumbo" IWC made with massive-for-the-era nearly 39mm case powered by a superior caliber 83 movement.
While the vast majority of IWC's mens dress watches for the era were between 31mm and 35mm in size, with 36mm being the occasional desirable large one, hardly any are this size.
It is powered by the very fine and reliable Caliber 83 movement, chosen by the company to power their famous Mark IX and Mark X military watches.
It is encased in the watch's original 14K gold contract case made for IWC. It seems to be lightly tinted rose in color. It has striking claw style lugs, and its size gives it a tremendous presence on the wrist.
It is in pleasing condition.
Its very rare jumbo case presents in excellent condition with only light wear and a couple of very light pin pricks in the back. It shows very little signs of ever having been polished and may never have been. The hallmark on the side of the lug is crisp. Please inquire if you would like it polished.
Its light champagne colored dial appears original to the naked eye - under magnification it may be a near-flawless refinishing done in vintage times or it may be original.
One of our Master Watchmakers has freshly overhauled its movement. It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time nearly on par with a brand new IWC in our testing recording position.
For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap designed for fixed lug watches making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
