1943 Rolex Oyster Army Vintage Mens Midsize Watch Ref. 3139 - Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. VR 9

Today's offering showcases this quite rare and pleasing Rolex Oyster Army made c. 1943. We've been wanting to get our hands on one of these for a number of years, and finally have. This is the very first Army that we've owned.

If you're not familiar, the Army was so named because its special Oyster case was built like a tank.

Our Army is fully Rolex down to all hands and the original Oyster Patent top hat winding crown. The dial has been refinished, but it's old restoration that still gives the watch an original look, and the luminous looks great!

Its rugged case is in very pleasing condition with clear facets on the lugs and hardly any opening marks visible on the wrench grooves. It retains a strong case number, and the lightly printed "Stainless Steel - R.W.C." is still visible.

It is part of the discerning collection that we are selling for a renowned paediatrician.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It comes equipped with with a crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a 90-day C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
