Internationally acclaimed for their leadership in sports watches, TAG-Heuer is legendary for their dedication to building accurate and high-performance timepieces. Embraced by world-class athletes, race drivers, aviators, and anyone who demands the utmost in performance from their wristwatch, the company's watches rank among the most recognizable luxury watches in the world.
The gentleman's vintage Heuer wrist timer showcased in today's offering is a fine example of this phenomenon. Featuring a classic and elegant 18K gold case with chamfered lugs, timeless silver dial, and extremely fine movement this vintage chronograph is why these watches have continued to grow in desirability over the past decade.
Its dial has 1/5 seconds markings for professional precision timing in sporting, racing, and technical fields.
Powering this gem is a renowned Valjoux 23 movement. Considered one of, if not the finest chronograph recording mechanisms of its day, this special mechanism powered chronographs for Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, Ulysse Nardin.
It is the same mechanism used in the company's renowned and expensive two-button "Flieger chronograph", issued to German pilots.
We were fortunate to acquire it with all original parts down to the all five hands and the winding crown!
It presents in pleasing condition. The dial was restored in vintage times and is bright and clean. The case is in honest original excellent condition with fairly light wear and appears never to have been polished. Please inquire if you would like it polished.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment. It continues to keep extremely accurate time.
It comes on a fine strap made from select crocodile skin.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
