1950's Heuer Vintage Valjoux 23 Chronograph Mens Watch with Gorgeous Dial - 14K Gold

Heuer

Item No. 8633

Internationally acclaimed for their leadership in sports watches, TAG-Heuer is legendary for their dedication to building accurate and high-performance timepieces. Embraced by world-class athletes, race drivers, aviators, and anyone who demands the utmost in performance from their wristwatch, the company's watches rank among the most recognizable luxury watches in the world.

The gentleman's vintage Heuer wrist timer showcased in today's offering is a stunning original example of this phenomenon. We just love it! I think its the most aesthetically pleasing Heuer chronograph to ever pass through these halls.

Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.

The centerpiece of this watch is its incredible original dial that has darkened with a "tropical" look from a regular salmon tone to a much deeper, darker, and richer tone.

Its 14K gold Heuer case is classic and elegant with chamfered lugs. The stunning dial, pleasing case, and extremely fine movement together show why these watches have continued to grow in desirability over the past decade.

Its dial has 1/5 seconds markings for professional precision timing in sporting, racing, and technical fields.

Powering this gem is a renowned Valjoux 23 movement. Considered one of, if not the finest chronograph recording mechanisms of its day, this special mechanism powered chronographs for Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, Ulysse Nardin. It is the same mechanism used in the company's renowned and expensive two-button "Flieger chronograph", issued to German pilots.

We were fortunate to acquire it with all its original parts down to all five hands and the winding crown!

It presents in very pleasing condition. The case is in excellent condition with only very light wear and and signs of previous polishing.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value). Photos of the inside available upon request. It continues to run very strong and keep accurate time.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap and aftermarket Heuer style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
