1951 Omega Classic 30T2 Based Vintage Mens Watch, Larger 36mm Model - 18K Rose Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 4911

Today's offering showcases this classic full size 30T2 based Omega dress watch in excellent restored condition. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!

It is big and beautiful. Not only is the case larger than those on many of the "dress" Omegas and Seamasters - this one measures 36mm without the crown, the size of the Rolex Datejust - it also has a very pleasing decorated dial.

Quite unusually, it has a stunning case plated in rose gold, rather than in yellow gold, which is much more common. This is a much more refined Omega from period than most.

Its "tropical" rose gold-plated case with steel back has the look on the wrist of a solid rose gold Omega for a fraction of the cost. The long lugs give it a real elegance.

Powering it is a very capable handwound Omega movement from their robust 30 T2 based series.

The famous 30 T2 movement gained a reputation for reliability and accurate timekeeping serving the critical timing needs of the world's Armed Forces during World War II. As time progressed, Omega added upgrades to the movement such as shock protection and extra jewels - as is the case with the Cal. 283 mechanism found in this watch.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in excellent condition.

The rose gold plating on the case has previously been redone. The area on the underside shows previous aging on the edge of the engine bay, and the underside of the lugs and the case back show signs of previous polishing and slight remnants of wear. On the wrist it presents as mint.

Its elegant and sophisticated silver has been meticulously restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America - the printing could pass as factory done to the naked eye.

We have been trying to bring some of our long-term restoration projects across the finish line. This was our longest project. Four of our Master Watchmakers and one dial specialist have worked for over *nine* years sympathetically restoring the watch to breathe new life into it again for future generations, and it became a much bigger project than originally anticipated (a $1995 value.) Our loss is your gain.

It is now running exceptionally strong and true, keeping time better than most new Omegas in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap and aftermarket rose gold color buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center.
