1954 Tiffany & Co. Vintage Ladies Equestrian Horse Watch - 14K Gold, Platinum & Essex Crystal

Tiffany & Co.

Item No. 7123

Today's offering showcases this breathtaking 14K gold, platinum, and Essex crystal wristwatch made Tiffany & Co.

In the 1950's, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of the company's select offerings was a line of watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial. Although the maker's name were always hidden, the retailer contracted with the world's finest watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

This incredibly pleasing watch made for equestrian lovers is a prime example of this phenomenon made by Movado for the prestigious retailer.

We were very fortunate to acquire it. The gold and platinum findings on the bracelet are made to look like stirrups. Despite their very small size they were actually crafted in two-tone for a more authentic look. The watch is rich in details, and the Essex crystal is exquisite!

This very special watch has all of its original parts with the only exception of the few small correct mechanical parts we replaced in our servicing.

It is in excellent condition, appearing to have been worn seldom and carefully in appreciation of its quality and value. Its case is in excellent condition, and the Essex crystals are perfect. Its silver dial was restored by one of the leading dial specialists in North America.

Four of our Master Watchmakers and a Master Dial Specialist worked for the last four years restoring this special watch to breathe new life into it which included replacing worn parts with genuine replacements and even custom fabricating a perfect part to the original factory functional and decorative quality (restoration value $1,995).

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Note: This model is shown in a 1954 Tiffany & Co. advertisement in John Loring's work Tiffany Timepieces, 2004, pg. 141 (see image below).
