Today's offering showcases this distinctive and pleasing c. 1961 Omega Seamaster with beautiful Mulberry Amethyst dial. It has a classic Seamaster case design and continues of our summer of color.

This Seamaster has the elegant simplicity that made Omega’s mid-century dress watches so enduring, with its slim round case, fine lugs, and beautifully balanced dial with vintage styled markers.

What gives this example its own personality is the original Omega dial, custom refinished in a rich Mulberry Amethyst tone that feels softer and more sophisticated than a brighter jewel-purple finish.

The color moves between muted plum, mauve, and deep violet depending on the light, giving the dial a warm, almost velvety depth. Its smoother finish allows the color to remain composed rather than flashy.

The applied markers add some of the watch’s most appealing vintage character. At 12, 3, 6, and 9, the hour markers broaden into tapered arrowhead forms that immediately set the dial apart from a more conventional baton layout. Against the custom Mulberry Amethyst finish, they create a really appealing contrast, combining vintage style with a fresher, more contemporary sense of color - we think it strikes a perfect balance.

The result is a vintage Omega with all the refinement of the original design, but with a more distinctive and contemporary character than the familiar silver or champagne examples.

To house the movement Omega used a semi-monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 562 movement, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs It was part of the top-tier 562/565 offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and was one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era.

It measures 34mm in diameter, the size of the mens Rolex Date model.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.

Its case presents as mint with only light signs of polishing. The lug retains strong facets

Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in Mulberry Amethyst - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration, it has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running extremely strongly and true, keeping time nearly on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, it has been equipped with a brand new aftermarket calfskin leather strap in a complementary mulberry color and an aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
