1965 Omega (Seamaster) Rare Cal. 560 Vintage Mens 10K Gold Filled & Steel Watch, Only Approx. 3000 Made - Papers

Omega

Item No. 9306

Today's offering showcases this rare, classic and pleasing automatic Omega. If you have been looking for one of these watches, don't miss this one which has its original papers showing it was purchased Christmas Day in 1965.

It features Omega's rare caliber 560 movement of which only 3,000 examples were made. These watches were made just for the U.S. market to avoid higher tariffs, and these 3,000 movements were split across 9 models, making each model in effect a very "limited edition."

It has all of its original parts and presents beautifully on the wrist.

Its untouched original silver linen dial is mint, and its gold-filled top "tropical" steel back case has the look of a solid gold Omega without the price tag. Under magnification, the luminous shows only light loss and has beautifully toned matching the luminous in the hands.

In construction, it is a Seamaster, but this model was only very rarely branded so on the dial.

The lugs have slivers on gold wear through on the edges, and the case back has a light crease. Otherwise, it shows only fairly light wear.

One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw, carefully inspected each parts, and serviced it. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping accurate time.

For the finishing touch, it comes equipped with a new vintage style distressed leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

As mentioned, accompanying the watch are its original papers showing it was sold in Evanston, Illinois.
