The Seamaster DeVille, showcasing both refinement and high function, was the most important Omega line from a sales perspective from the latter part of the 1960's into the 1970's.
Today's offering showcases this distinctive and pleasing c. 1966 Omega Seamaster with purple dial. It has a classic Seamaster case design.
It has a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs It was the top tier offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and a quick-setting date and was one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era.
It measures 34mm in diameter, the size of the mens Rolex Date model.
It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.
Its case presents as mint with light signs of polishing. On the wrist, it presents as gorgeous mint.
Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in a deep lavender hue - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration, it has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running extremely strong and true, keeping exceptionally accurate time better than most brand new Omegas in our testing recording position.
For the finishing touch, it has been equipped with a brand new aftermarket calfskin leather strap in a complementary color and an aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
