1970 Omega De Ville Vintage Large Mens Automatic Classic Retro Watch - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 10183

Today's offering showcases this classic retro Omega De Ville in gorgeous condition. It is an uncommon model with distinctive case.

It is pleasingly large for the era, 36mm - the same size as a Rolex Datejust.

Living up to its name as one of the elegant and sophisticated "De Ville" models, it has a shapely stainless steel case and striking Tiffany & Co. robin's egg blue dial. It's monococque or one-piece case originally helped it achieve a greater level of water-resistance.

Powering the watch is Omega's caliber 752 movement with twenty-four jewels (seven more than in many Seamaster versions from the period), day of the week indication, and a quick-setting date.

The 700 series has a direct lineage with the celebrated 500 series, and is arguably as good, and collectors are beginning to recognize it accordingly.

It has a cool retro style and great presence on the wrist - it's not your run of the mill De Ville from the era. Omega used its brand new-at-the-time slim automatic winding system which allowed the movement to fit into a rectangular watch without it becoming too bulky.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in spectacular condition - a 9.8 out of 10. Its case presents as mint with a fantastic sunburst finish on the bezel and strong facets on the side.

Its original dial has been meticulously custom refinished in Tiffany blue - its printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

A Master Watchmaker has disassembled it down to its last screw and overhauled it. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping time on par with a new Omega in our testing recording.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a new leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center.
