Around the 1970's Omega commissioned a number of leading designers to create very retro styled watches. Most of the watches we've seen were elegant and some pushed the design envelope.
The wristwatch featured in today's offering is a prime example of a 70's retro Omega dress watch.
Living up to its name as one of the elegant and sophisticated "DeVille" models, it features a large "widescreen" TV case, a distinctive money or forest green dial, and a high-grade automatic Omega movement packed inside the oblong case. The case features an innovative design where two metals rods secure the back and hold it together to initially give it water resistance.
Although most rectangular watches from the era had handwound movements because of size constraints this watch has a small caliber 684 engine that could be fit into the special case.
It is fully Omega down to the hands, winding crown, and even signed original crystal!
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!
Its case presents as mint. Its dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing looks Omega factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration the movement has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker and is keeping very accurate time. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A four and a half decade old Omega that presents like new! Don't the miss the chance to own a special retro yet elegant vintage Omega.
