1970's Ulysse Nardin Vintage Mens Retro Automatic Watch - Stainless Steel

Ulysse Nardin

Item No. 10474

Today's offering showcases this classic mens automatic Ulysse Nardin chronometer in gorgeous restored condition.

It leans confidently but quietly into the bold, design-forward spirit of its era.

The cushion-shaped case, with its broad, brushed surfaces and rounded geometry, reflects the shift in the late 1960s and 1970s toward more expressive, modern forms. It has real wrist presence...not oversized...but visually substantial. And it carries the kind of retro character that feels intentional rather than nostalgic.

The dial is where the watch truly comes alive. Rendered in a rich sunburst blue, it shifts dramatically with the light, at times deep and inky, at others electric and radiant. Applied baton markers and clean, linear hands reinforce a sense of disciplined elegance, allowing the dial’s color and finish to take center stage without distraction.

Underneath, the automatic movement reflects Ulysse Nardin’s long-standing reputation for precision timekeeping - a heritage built not only on wristwatches, but on the marine chronometers that once guided ships across the world’s oceans. That legacy of accuracy and reliability is quietly carried forward here, housed within a design that feels easily wearable decades after it was made.

It measures 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date model and a Rolex Datejust, and its tonneau case makes it wear a little larger.

Powering it is its original well-made Ulysse Nardin automatic caliber E11KE movement.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original parts and presents in gorgeous condition - about a 9.7 out of 10.

Its case presents in mint condition with only very light signs of previous polishing.

Its royal blue dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as UN factory done to the naked eye. Its color is a true rich, deep royal blue. Our photos couldn't quite do it justice.

As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has overhauled the movement. It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a brand new Ulysses Nardin.

For the finishing touch, it comes equipped with a brand new calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

A classic half-century old Ulysse Nardin that looks like new!

Ulysse Nardin:

Ulysse Nardin is best known by many collectors for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments. Their marine chronometer used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship, and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
