1971 Rolex Date (Datejust) Vintage Mens with Silver Dial - Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. 6194

Today's offering showcases this superior original example of a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model encased in stainless steel. Essentially a Datejust with a slightly smaller diameter (34mm instead of the Datejust's 36mm) it features clean lines and a sharp look and embodies Rolex's timeless class. With its indexed engine turned bezel, it added a touch of extra class to Rolex's Oyster Perpetual line.

As precise as it is classic, the watch is powered by a caliber 1570 mechanism that powered many early models of the Submariner, Explorer, and GMT models. A superior mechanism, it offers a level of engineering and craftsmanship that is exceptional.

It is fully Rolex down to its original Oyster "rivet" bracelet date stamped stamped January of 1971, which is in beautiful condition. It has its original classic and elegant silver dial, which is untouched and mint.

On the wrist the case presents as scratch-free. The luminous has just lightly toned on the dial and hands and perfectly matches - it's beautiful!

Our Master Watchmaker has just performed a complete overhaul which consisted of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with new Rolex parts, reassembling and lubricating the movement, replacing all of the waterproofing seals with new Rolex gaskets, and extensive timing testing and regulation ($695 value).

It is keeping very accurate time.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Note: A published example of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Guido Mondani editor, Vol. 2, pp. 392-393.
